The Order of St. Camillus Foundation hosted its annual Dinner for a Cause at Mansfeld’s Restaurant. The event brought over 160 guests where residents, sponsors, vendors, and family members came together to raise funds for benevolent care.
“The second annual Dinner for a Cause was a meaningful evening dedicated to supporting benevolent care for our most vulnerable residents – which supports our mission at St. Camillus. This year, funds were raised to help individuals who depend on our compassionate services but have exhausted their resources,” said Christopher Sosnay, Vice President - Order of St. Camillus Foundation.
Benevolent care allows St. Camillus residents, who may outlive their financial resources, to age in place with dignity and security. It also addresses the significant gap between federal reimbursement and the actual costs of services. The Order of St. Camillus Foundation and the St. Camillus Health System work together to cover the annual $1.3 million gap which is benevolent care.
The evening featured a heartfelt presentation by Michael Libby, CEO of St. Camillus, and Father Agustin Orosa, MI, President of St. Camillus Health System, Inc. Together, they spoke about the vital role of benevolent care and its deep connection to the St. Camillus mission. Guests were also moved by a beautiful video showcasing residents who shared why they chose St. Camillus—emphasizing the profound sense of security, comfort, and community they feel.
It is through the Order of St. Camillus, and the founder, Saint Camillus de Lellis, the patron saint of the sick, hospitals, nurses, and physicians, to live the mission to support the most vulnerable residents, regardless of the ability to pay for services, as they progress through the continuum of care provided by St. Camillus.
