LaVondra “Lava” Ham, an English graduate student at Marquette University, has completed her fellowship at St. Camillus. Lava participated in the Trinity Fellows program at Marquette University in partnership with St. Camillus. The Trinity Fellows Program is a graduate fellowship program that is dedicated to developing urban leaders. The fellows, who are committed to social and economic justice, participate in a 21-month study/work program while earning a master's degree.

Lava participated and engaged in the St. Camillus community in various ways, through on and off campus opportunities. She supported St. Camillus Feast Week, delivered care kits to senior living facilities, worked with the St. Camillus Co-op (the employee food and essentials pantry), participated in the Toy Drive, and created creative writing programs. She also participated in many other tasks and responsibilities that supported the Mission Office. Lava engaged in the wider community by fostering partnerships with the Wauwatosa Health Department and the West Allis Senior Center. Her time serving at St. Camillus has been impactful for not only how she sees herself as a community leader, but also her understanding of the needs of seniors.
