The St. Camillus Learning and Development team runs an initiative that offers an in-house Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP). The program is a career advancement opportunity for St. Camillus employees, as well as for high school students pursuing healthcare careers. Upon successful completion of the program and state tests, candidates become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

The program invites all eligible staff to apply for this opportunity, regardless of their current role within the company which encourages career advancement. The curriculum has increased from a 90-hour program to a 95-hour program to encompass additional vocabulary modules. The curriculum includes:

-       45 hours of ReadyCNA learning software modules

-       24 hours of skills lab practice led by nursing instructors

-       32 hours of clinical practice where each student cares for one to two residents under the supervision of a primary instructor

We are excited to reach our goal of three class offerings in2025, two being our own employees and one including high school students with our partnership with Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Milwaukee. Twenty-seven students have successfully graduated the program since it began – with most of them working at St. Camillus as CNAs.
