St. Camillus Life Plan Community honors their employees through Spirit of St. Camillus Award.
St. Camillus created the Spirit of St. Camillus Award 6 years ago to highlight staff whose work reflects the mission and core values of St. Camillus. St. Camillus’ core values include holistic care, compassion, community and hope. The winner is selected by a committee consisting of members of the Camillian Order, the St. Camillus Leadership team and the St. Camillus Make the Difference Team. The award is given annually during St. Camillus Feast Week which is the anniversary of the death of St. Camillus. St. Camillus was the patron saint of the sick, hospitals, nurses and physicians. The Order of St. Camillus founded St. Camillus Life Plan Community in the early 1930’s.
The Spirit of St. Camillus winner for 2020 is Connie G. Connie has worked as a Restorative Aide in St. Camillus’ Skilled Nursing since 2012. Connie’s coworkers describe her as “humble, compassionate and kind.” Many say she lives the mission and delivers care from her heart. Connie even spends her spare time volunteering at St. Camillus helping the residents wherever and whenever she can.
“The Spirit of St. Camillus gives us the opportunity to highlight those who truly live out the mission of St. Camillus in their work. We are blessed to have so many extraordinary employees to care for our residents.” - St. Camillus CEO, Kevin Schwab
