A Wedding Fashion Show for residents...
Wauwatosa - St. Camillus Life Plan Community creates Wedding Fashion Show of a lifetime for residents and their families.
On June 24th, 20 brides graced the aisles of St. Camillus’ Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel modeling wedding gowns from 1920 – 2011 as a string quartet announced their entrance. Over 70 residents were in attendance from all areas of campus joined by over 30 staff and 25 family members. Young children dressed in formal suits and gowns, bringing an added joy to the event. Two residents and their families were surprised with custom made photo signs of their wedding day. One of these resident couples was celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on the day of the show. Staff, residents, family members and friends modeled the gowns and bridesmaid dresses that lead the participants on a journey through the decades with a historical review of the times, trends and wedding gown style.
“I am so thankful for all who helped with this amazing event. You could see the pure joy on our residents faces. It was a magical afternoon.” - Bridget McNair, St. Camillus Research and Life Enrichment Director
