Adjusting to COVID-19 with Wacky Wednesdays...
St. Camillus Life Plan Community is adjusting to the COVID-19 precautions with Wacky Wednesdays in Independent Living.
Each Wednesday, Administration surprises residents with something special directly to their doors. The team breaks up into pairs and visits residents door to door throughout all 10 floors. On the first Wacky Wednesday, residents were treated to ice cream sundaes to celebrate St. Camillus’ construction progress. Other Wacky Wednesdays included a traveling happy hour with made to order drinks, Easter goodie bags with a special message of hope inside and a traveling concert on wheels featuring their talented culinary staff singer and pianist. Residents especially enjoyed the Easter visit when Administration hopped around with bunny ears as they delivered goodie bags.
“Despite the Safer at Home order, we are still able to bring our residents joy and camaraderie with our Wacky Wednesday visits and extensive life enrichment programming. We love when our residents open their doors with a huge smile. Some have even cried tears of joy and all are so gracious for our visits. We’ve noticed many residents are waiting at their doors in anticipation of their special surprise!” - Julie Leveritt, Independent Living Administrator
Wacky Wednesdays will continue while the Safer at Home orders remain in place. Next week’s Wacky Wednesday includes a Cinco De Mayo celebration with lime and strawberry margaritas and chips and salsa.
