An afternoon of camaraderie and shopping...
On Wednesday, May 10th, St. Camillus Life Plan Community hosted its first Piggly Wiggly Mobile Market in partnership with Hunger Task Force, drawing 77 shoppers. It was a community event that attracted St. Camillus residents, employees and community members for an afternoon of camaraderie and shopping.
The market operates daily Monday-Friday throughout various locations within the city. Hunger Task Force partners with Piggly Wiggly grocery store to stock the Mobile Market. The Mobile Market has a variety of first quality fresh foods including fruits, vegetables, milk, meats and cheeses. With help from a federal grant, Hunger Task Force is able to offer an additional 50% off all purchases on the Mobile Market, beyond Piggly Wiggly’s affordable prices.
The Mobile Market will be stationed at St. Camillus once a month in the parking lot off of 103rd St. behind the West Residence and is open for shopping to all community members. The next Mobile Market is scheduled at St. Camillus for June 14th from 2-3:30pm.
This partnership is one of many initiatives provided through St. Camillus Serves.
