To our residents and family members:
As you know, we have been working closely with the local and federal authorities, in addition to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to help in stopping the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are writing to inform you that on May 25, 2020, we received confirmation that a St. Camillus employee from our Health Center building had tested positive with COVID-19. The employee’s last full day worked was on May 15th. We have determined that due to restrictions already in place, no residents were exposed. There was very minimal staff exposure and those exposed are required to self isolate for 14 days at home. The CDC defines exposure as contact of 6 feet or closer for a continuous duration of 10 minutes.
The health and safety of our residents and staff is our top priority. We are working diligently to protect our community from the COVID-19 virus. St. Camillus has been and will continue to implement the heightened protocol that is required from our local health officials and the CDC for nursing homes, assisted living and senior communities including after the Safer at Home Orders expire. We understand that being away from your loved ones is extremely difficult. Please call us if there is anything we can assist you with including video calls.
Our mission at St. Camillus is to care for the elderly and sick as our founder Saint Camillus De Lellis did. Our dedicated team members are working around the clock to live out our mission and provide the best possible care to our residents. We will continue to provide regular updates as we have them and encourage you to continue to help us in stopping the spread of this virus.
