Please join us in welcoming Cassandra Meeks, House Manager for the Lake Park and Cathedral neighborhoods in our North Residence Memory Care. Cassandra's role will entail supervising the Resident Assistants, a liaison for families and overseeing quality of care.
"I began my career in funeral service where I was blessed to care for families in their time of grief. My enjoyment of my role in assisting and working with people led me to pursue a career in Human Resources. I began working for St. Camillus as a HR Assistant and look forward to growing in my new position as a Memory Care House Manager." - Cassandra Meeks
Please give a warm welcome to Cassandra!
This week, several residents participated in our Creative Class in Independent Living led virtually by Kathleen Barczak. Colorful tulle wreaths were made, with either an owl or hedgehog attached along with a chalkboard. Some residents decided to use it as a center piece and put a bowl of candy in the middle. It was a fun hour with a lot of creating, visiting and laughing - all while social distancing of course!
St. Camillus has been informed of five new employee cases of COVID-19 this week. The employees include: a housekeeper in our Assisted Living/Skilled Nursing, an Accounting team member, an Independent Living team member, a caregiver in Memory Care and a new hire who tested positive prior to starting on campus. If your loved one had significant exposure to one of the above employees, you have already been notified. Any residents who have been exposed are being monitored closely for symptoms. All employees are at home quarantining.
Weekly testing for residents will continue in our Memory Care and Skilled Nursing until such a time that we have two consecutive weeks of negative test results.Assisted Living residents have completed two weeks of testing with no positive results.
All staff working in our Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing Health Center buildings are being tested twice weekly. Testing for all staff working in Independent Living will begin Monday, November 16th and will be completed twice per week as well.
