The outbreak of the Coronavirus or COVID-19 virus is impacting businesses around the globe, including St Camillus. This week we have seen a lot of news around the virus with cancelations of sporting events, gatherings and some schools and universities. All of this has come on rapidly. At St. Camillus, safety is always our first priority and that is especially true as we all confront this pandemic together. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all our friends and partners who have been affected by this illness worldwide. Our team is working hard to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone connected with St. Camillus.
We are monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on the COVID-19 virus carefully and are also following guidance from local authorities.
We have taken drastic measures to ensure everyone’s health earlier this week by restricting visitors to only medically necessary visits and by actively testing visitors and staff of symptoms and requiring them to complete a self-assessment. We have also postponed tours of the campus and canceled the All Employee meetings that were scheduled this week.
We are also doing the following to help prevent and combat the spread of COVID-19:
I assure you that our leadership team meets frequently if not daily to keep our response to this situation up to date and we are actively working on contingency plans for staffing, food and supplies to get through an outbreak.
At St. Camillus, compassion is one of our core values. Our compassionate philosophy is guiding our actions during this time and helping us stay focused on the health and safety of everyone who we care for and are part of our family.
Thank you for everything you all do to keep us safe and remember to follow all of the infection control protocols that we have put into place.
May God bless you all and keep you healthy,
Kevin Schwab, Chief Executive Officer
