Health Brief

June 3, 2020

June is National Alzheimer’s Disease and Brain Health Awareness month. Alzheimer Disease is a progressive form a dementia that causes change to the brain structure. These changes progress to the level where they interfere with daily living. Over 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. One in three seniors who die each year has a dementia related diagnosis . As America’s elder population boom continues so will the rates of Alzheimer and other dementias. There is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease but there is good news….There are treatments and lifestyle changes that can slow the progression of this and other dementias. We can build our “cognitive reserve”. There are a few spaces available in the 10:00 and 1:00 sessions for our Boost Your Brain and Memory workshop.
