Health Brief

May 4, 2020

This weekend I learned of a wonderful spiritual program offered by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. It is called “Step Out Stronger”. It is a magnificent way to dedicate your days of isolation by building a stronger relationship with Christ. It asks you to spend 1% of your day (just 15 minutes) in guided prayer/meditation, then to live out your prayer by doing one concrete action to grow your love for God and neighbor. If you have access to the internet I encourage you to check it out.

Our St. Camillus Home Health department would like to offer Fall Prevention Safety Assessments. These assessments would occur in your apartment with a Physical or Occupational Therapist trained in falls prevention. We will offer this in 3 phases.

  • Phase 1 will be with those who have fallen during the past 6 weeks,
  • Phase 2 will be those identified as “at risk for a fall” and
  • Phase 3 will be those who are interested in this.

It is my understanding there will not be an out of pocket fee for this assessment as it can be billed to Medicare.

Monday Moaners:

  • Where do take someone injured in a peek-a-boo accident?
  • What is the name of the molecule CH2O?
  • How are a judge and an English teacher alike?
  • What do you call a nun who walks in her sleep?

What are you grateful for? …what a glorious weekend. I returned today to a boxful of donated medications and prescription bottles. The Kiwanis thanks you all.

Let's Keep In Touch!

We look forward to hearing from you.
