Keeping with this week’s theme of healthy living, let’s talk about healthy snacking. Snacks can help you meet your daily nutrient needs. Especially if large meals do not fit your lifestyle or meet your medical requirements. Here are a few suggestions for healthy snack options.


  • Peaches
  • Pineapple
  • Strawberries
  • Raisins / Dried Fruit
  • Clementines


  • Broccoli
  • Bell Peppers
  • Carrots
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Kale


  • Peanuts / Nut Butters
  • Lean white meat (turkey/chicken)
  • Sunflower / Pumpkin seeds
  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Hummus

Whole Grains

  • Crackers
  • Cereal
  • Popcorn
  • Oatmeal

Low Fat Dairy

  • Cottage cheese
  • Yogurt
  • Cheese
  • Milk

Combine 2 or more food groups:

  • Cottage cheese with peaches
  • Celery with peanut butter
  • Carrots with hummus
  • Quesadillas
  • Cereal with low fat milk.
