I hope that all of those that are mothers had a very Happy Mother’s Day. I know during this time it was difficult to share the love we typically do with our mothers, however I thank you for your patience with us during this beloved holiday that celebrates everything our mothers have done for us. I also hope this email finds you safe and healthy. At St. Camillus, we continue to have no positive COVID-19 cases in our community. As always our main priority is keeping our residents and staff safe.
Our leadership team has been meeting daily since the start of the pandemic to review operations and protocols campus wide. As we continue to follow the guidelines from our local and federal health authorities, as well as implement our own increased precautions, we are reminded daily that the spread of COVID-19 to our community is still very possible. We want to reassure you that if we were to have a positive case of COVID-19 in our community, we have the proper protocols in place to continue to provide the utmost quality and compassionate care that our residents deserve while protecting our community.
We have worked diligently to prepare staffing contingencies, isolation protocols, increased sanitation and screening and adequate PPE (personal protective equipment) in advance. In addition, with the efforts of our extraordinary employees who are dedicated to our mission and exemplify this through the care they provide daily, we are confident in the continued safety of our residents. If you or your loved one were to test positive for COVID-19, your Administrator or Social Worker would contact you viatele phone.
While we understand the increased fear of our own health and the health of our loved ones during this pandemic, please know there are countless senior communities like ours around the globe that are working tirelessly to maintain the health and well-being of our aging population. The unfortunate reality is we cannot completely control COVID-19, but we can do our very best to fight and contain it. We stand together with other communities who may have no cases, one, or several but continue to live out their mission in providing quality care to those they serve.
We understand that the Safer at Home orders will end in the coming days or weeks, but this does not mean that COVID-19 will simply go away. We will still need to be diligent in our efforts to control COVID-19 at St. Camillus and the Department of Health Services will be requiring us to maintain certain protocols well beyond the Safer at Home orders.
As they still are in effect, we encourage everyone to continue the Safer at Home orders and practice social distancing. We are grateful for the out pouring of support our residents, families, and staff have given to us during this challenging time. We will continue to keep you informed regularly with the most up to date information at St. Camillus. Please feel free to reach out to me or any member of the St. Camillus team with any questions.
