To our St. Camillus families:
We are writing to update you on the status of our COVID-19 testing. Yesterday, we were notified that another employee received a positive COVID-19 test result. The employee is new and just completed her classroom caregiver training, but had not yet started working with our residents. The employee was last at St. Camillus on 6/19 and participated in our second round of COVID-19 testing on that date. The employee was asymptomatic and immediately quarantined at home. Contact tracing is complete and no other employees had significant exposure. The CDC states “significant exposure” occurs when 2 or more people are closer than 6 feet apart for 10+ minutes, without the use of PPE.
We have ordered more test kits and will begin round #3 of COVID-19 testing as soon as they arrive. We are required to continue with weekly testing for all employees working in our Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care buildings until we go 2 consecutive weeks without any positive results.
We will continue to keep you informed as we receive updates. As always, thank you for your patience and understanding.
