At the start of the pandemic, our Pastoral Care Team created Post-it wall banners across campus to encourage everyone to share positive thoughts together. The space shares words of hope, happiness and creativity. The question for August is "Over the last few months, how have you been positively changed?" Thank you those who participate and to all of our residents, families and friends in the community who provide continuous support and encouragement to St. Camillus!
Over the last few months, many residents in Independent Living have spent their spare time creating and filling our beautiful raised garden beds. Those with a green thumb simply reserved a garden bed at the front desk and were able to create a space unique to their interests. Some residents filled their boxes with flowers while others are growing vegetables and herbs. Each resident takes care of their own bed by planting, watering and weeding daily. The luscious gardens can be seen from Bluemound Road and are a beautiful addition to the San Camillo patio!
We wanted to provide you with an update on our COVID-19 testing. We have received the results from this week’s testing, and two employees tested positive for COVID-19.
Contact tracing was completed per CDC guidelines and those staff and residents with significant exposure have already been contacted and are quarantining. The residents will also be tested today. Per CDC guidelines, significant exposure is a total of 15 cumulative minutes or more, while within 6 feet of a person regardless of mask use. Employees who tested positive include: a caregiver from our Jesuit Community and a Home Health caregiver working in our Assisted Living building.
Today we start another round of testing for staff working in our Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care buildings. We need 14 days with no positive results in order to reduce our testing frequency.
Residents in Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing will not be tested unless they become exposed, symptomatic or after hospitalizations. New admissions to our Skilled Nursing will continue to be tested.
