COVID-19 VAccine Q & A

Will I get paid to get my vaccination?

Yes, we will pay you for the time you get your vaccination. Please make sure you are punched, just like you would for COVID testing.

If we have adverse effects to the vaccine will it be approved that we Stay home?

Most common side effects are pain at the injection site, headache and fatigue. If you are unable to work, please communicate this to your manager.  Potential side effects should not last more than a day and are reported to be minor. We are not expecting it to interfere with your ability to work.

What if I can’t make it to the scheduled vaccination day?

We will have a make-up date available for employees who have scheduling conflicts.

Will I have to get the vaccine even though I tested positive for COVID-19 already?

Due to the severe health risks associated with COVID-19 and the fact that re-infection with COVID-19 is possible, people may be advised to get a COVID-19 vaccine even if they have been sick with COVID before.

Will we get a card or token indicating we have been vaccinated?

Yes, you will receive a WI COVID-19 Vaccination record and St. Camillus will provide a sticker or pin to wear showing you have been vaccinated.

Will we still need to wear masks after the booster?

Per WI DHS and CDC recommendations, all precautions should and will continue for some time after vaccination.

I am pregnant, do I take the vaccine?

If a women is part of a group (e.g., healthcare personnel) who is recommended to receive a COVID-19 vaccine and is pregnant, she may choose to be vaccinated. A discussion with your healthcare provider can help make a informed decision.

How credible is the vaccine?

All COVID-19 vaccines were tested in clinical trials involving tens of thousands of people to make sure they meet safety standards and protect adults of different races, ethnicities, and ages. There were no serious safety concerns. The most common side effect was pain at injection site. After a review of all the available information, ACIP and CDC agree the lifesaving benefits of COVID-19 vaccination for LTCF residents outweigh the risk of possible side effects.
