Not-for-Profit

St. Camillus, unlike many healthcare institutions, operates as a not-for-profit organization. We have a foundation dedicated to and for that reason. St. Camillus community is sponsored by the International Roman Catholic Order of St. Camillus and is operated locally by a volunteer board of directors who govern the organization and support the leadership of experienced administrative, professional and skilled personnel.

As a not-for-profit community, St. Camillus’ pricing includes many social accountability programs because at St. Camillus, our business is to make reasonable, responsible, and strategic stewardship and operational decisions. Some examples of our social accountability programs include: more than $285,000 in charitable benevolent care, over $1.3 million of care offered short of government funding, volunteer opportunities, support groups, pastoral care, Clinical Pastoral Education offerings, staff education benefits and scholarships, and more.

At our independent retirement community, San Camillo, residents are required to pay an entrance fee. This entrance fee can range from $81,000 to $300,000. However, unlike many Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC), the entrance fee at San Camillo is 100% refundable to you or your estate. Other communities will keep anywhere between 5% to 20% of the entrance fee deposit. Your entrance fee is also an asset that will not depreciate like other investments and will ensure that you have the necessary resources for care when and if the need arises.

Our policy is to allow anyone to maintain residence at St. Camillus, even if they should become unable to pay for their stay. It was the policy of Saint Camillus to help everyone who needed care, even if that meant taking on financial responsibility for their care. We believe in this policy, as well.

We invite you to learn more about our entrance fee structure. Your reaction will likely be similar to that experienced by most of our residents—a pleasant surprise to learn how affordable St. Camillus is. Then review our examples of Monthly Expense Breakdown and Monthly Living Expenses Comparison.  Contact us and we’ll walk you through the process.  It’s easy, there’s no obligation… and then take a tour.
