Wound Care Specialty

Skin is the human body’s largest organ. It covers the entire body and it is very important to keep it healthy and free of injury. At St. Camillus, residents and Skilled Nursing patients are fortunate to have a team of individuals who specialize in wound care.

Our wound care team is made up of wound care-certified nurses and therapists, along with a dietitian. Their sole aim in the skilled nursing facility is to care for the skin of our residents.

The team collaborates with attending physicians and specialty wound clinics, and also meets as a unit twice every month. This cooperative effort allows them to provide the complete care and unique treatment required by every skin condition.

St. Camillus’ wound care team treats lesions, ulcers, diabetic foot abnormalities, and all other types of skin integrity issues. At the same time, the team works just as hard to promote the prevention of these and other skin conditions.
