Position:  Carpenter Maintenance Specialist


Department: Environmental Services

Reports to:  Environmental Services Director

Hours:  80hrs/bi-weekly - 1st shift, Occasional weekends

Job Description:  Planning and performing of journey level work on our campus buildings including installing and repairing structures, walls, millwork, cabinets, fixates, furniture, doors and related hardware, Responding to resident/staff requests for maintenance/equipment repairs; maintaining the power system and carrying out regular preventative maintenance; acting as first responder for fire and weather related emergencies.   fire door maintenance, adjustments an inspections.

Requirements:  High school grad or GED, Completion of carpenter apprenticeship or accredited trade school, minimum of six years experience in construction.  Journey level experience in rough and final carpentry with ability to cut and weld metals. strong knowledge of mechanics, plumbing and electrical repairs Must have a valid WI driver’s license.


Position:  PAINTER-1st Shift


The qualified candidate must have:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Minimum of two - three years painting experience, preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of the use of paints, painting materials, wall patching, drywall repair, wall coverings, staining, varnishing and wall cleaning materials.
  • Equipment use; Airless sprayer, HVLP, Texture/Hopper machine, Power sanders.
  • An eye for detail.


  • Cleaning walls with proper cleaner or detergent required for various types of wall surfaces
  • Wall patching, using proper materials.
  • Applying plaster to alter and repair surfaces of facility
  • Painting & redecorating walls
  • Stripping, staining, varnishing woodwork, furniture, equipment and fixtures
  • Performing light maintenance duties as assigned.


Position:  MAINTENANCE TECH - 2nd shift


Department:  Environmental Services

Reports to:  Environmental Services Director

Hours:  80hrs every two weeks, 2nd shift, inc. occ. wknds & on-call

Responsibilities:  Conducting preventative maintenance for building systems; Replace light bulbs/ballasts; Monitoring water system, HVAC     systems, and fire alarm systems; Appliance repair and other facility electrical equipment; Monitoring performance of major building systems including HVAC, and emergency power and fire protection; Responds to resident/staff work orders for maintenance/equipment repairs; Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment; Acting as first responder for fire and weather related emergencies; Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:   Minimum of three years previous experience in facilities maintenance, equipment repair, construction, or equivalent; Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.); Knowledge of building maintenance, applicable codes and regulations; Two-year technical degree or equivalent is required; Previous hospital or resident facility experience, helpful; Ability to weld and cut metals; Basic knowledge of low voltage systems, Nurse call, WIFI and TV cable systems; Valid WI driver’s license.


Position:  Plumber


Department:  Environmental Services

Reports to:  Maintenance Supervisor

Hours:  80hrs every two weeks, 1st shift, inc. occ. wknds & on-call.

Responsibilities:  Installs plumbing fixtures, disposals, dishwashers, shower/tub modules, faucets, valves; Familiar with ABS/PVC/PEX, copper and iron pipe work; Monitor performance of major building systems including water temperatures and HVAC; Conducts preventative maintenance on water heaters, tempering valves; Water supply, waste water, water heaters, kitchen equipment, and fire protection; inspects, maintains and repairs all plumbing related equipment including linked boilers and heat exchangers; maintains hot water system and services gas boilers

Qualifications:  Three or more years’ experience as a Journeyman plumber (experience with facilities in a commercial, industrial, or healthcare setting preferred); State Certified  Journeyman Plumbing License or equivalent experience; valid WI driver’s license; -High School and/or technical school graduation; Ability to perform assigned daily duties and complete projects with minimal supervision; Considerable knowledge of the plumbing methods, tools, mechanical equipment and techniques used in the trade.  Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, and building sanitation codes; Ability to prioritize work and manage assigned work orders in a timely manner.
