Leading Our Future
Fr. Pedro Tramontin
Provincial and President
Dear Friends:
I am excited about the future of our St. Camillus campus and know that our patron, St. Camillus de Lellis, watches over our work here in Wisconsin with happiness in his heart.
St. Camillus, the Patron Saint of the sick, of hospitals and of health care workers, calls us to put “More heart in our hands,” and that it is our duty to offer assistance. As an ordained servant of God, Camillus formed what has become the Order of St. Camillus which now has more than 1,100 men serving in more than 35 countries around the world.
I am pleased that the mission of the Order carries on today. Our Camillian presence in the United States began in the Milwaukee area with Fr. Michael Mueller arriving from Germany in 1921. The brotherhood he initiated here lead to the first hospital for men and later the development of our St. Camillus campus.
My fellow Camillian priests and brothers work with a dedicated and talented team to provide the many services offered to our residents on the St. Camillus campus and to clients in the community. Our core values of Holistic Care, Compassion, Community and Hope are what compel us to move forward and confidently plan for a future campus that will accommodate a growing need for services.
As you learn more about our plans, it is my sincere hope that you will be part of continuing our traditions of excellence and enhancing the lives of the seniors we serve.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Pedro Tramontin, M.I.

To Our Friends and Families,
I’m often asked, what makes St. Camillus unique? The answers are many. It is what you experience when you walk through the door– the friendly team members, happy residents and delicious culinary experiences. When you enter our facilities and instantly feel welcome and recognize our efforts to put quality first. We do everything we can to make sure that happens, to ensure our residents and families, employees and other visitors experience the excellent living environment and care we strive to provide. St. Camillus is a place that you can be pleased to call your home.
It is also our Mission. St. Camillus is a community built on strong Catholic values and we work together to provide care and support in an environment that is not ruled solely by the bottom line but rather by the satisfaction of those entrusted in our care and those that provide it. Our goal is to establish a partnership between you, your family, your doctor and our quality care giving staff.
The need for quality senior living will continue to grow as more people grow older than ever before. As we have provided wholistic care for more than seventy years, we will continue to be here for years to come to provide the environment and care for older adults to thrive and have opportunities and support to continue to live fulfilling lives.
I would like to invite you to experience the St. Camillus difference yourselves, call it your home and be part of our family.
Sincerely
Kevin Schwab

In 1591, Pope Gregory XIV approved and established the status of an Order called "Order of the Ministers of the Sick," whom follow Christ as their model. Today, the Ministers of the Sick are known as Camillians and are made up of priests and brothers who share the same religious rights and obligations. The Camillians take vows of chastity, poverty, obedience, and dedicate themselves to the sick, even at the risk of their own lives. Read more...

Core Values of the Order of St. Camillus
Holistic Care is at the core of our work. We profess concern for the individual by taking care of each person physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Respect for the residents and their dignity is reflected in everything we do, from the time of admission, to the pastoral care services offered, to the secure and comfortable environment we provide.
Compassion is feeling, caring and journeying with one another in a way that gives a sense of caring and presence in a very committed, integral way. It means we have been called upon to provide an empathetic presence with those who are suffering physically, emotionally socially and spiritually.
Community is entities collaborating with one another using their unique gifts and talents to build a community that fulfills the continuum of care philosophy. This can be accomplished by everyone – management, employees, residents and families – within our facilities, neighborhoods and world.
Hope is that no matter how difficult things may seem, God is always present with us, as individuals and as a community, to help us on the journey of life.
The Order of St. Camillus Foundation secures philanthropic support to further these core values and support the Camillian mission at our Wauwatosa campus and throughout the world.

Vocations
The Order of St. Camillus was established more than 400 years ago by St. Camillus de Lellis, so Christ's mission for the sick, especially the most needy may be continued.
Today, the Order of Saint Camillus serves in 35 countries with a total membership of about 1,100 priests, brothers and students. Camillians continue to serve those in desperate need of medical care abroad, but also serve the geriatric population here at home, recognizing that this is a growing ministry.
Serving the sick as a physician, nurse, Chaplain, technician, social worker, therapist, administrator, or other allied health care professional is challenging, rewarding and vitally important work. For some, this work is a vocation, a call to fulfill themselves by serving the sick as a member of a religious community.
For these individuals, this common mission is an opportunity to serve the sick while growing personally and spiritually as they transcend immediate material needs and find meaning in their lives be making a difference.

Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is theological, pastoral, spiritual, and professional education for ministry. In CPE, theological students, ordained clergy, members of religious communities, and qualified lay people, minister to people in crisis situations under the supervision of a qualified, ACPE Certified Educator.
CPE students are challenged to improve, deepen, and expand the quality of their pastoral relationships. Through viewing complicated life situations from different viewpoints, students are able to gain new insights and understanding about the human situation. Theological and pastoral reflection is important in CPE as pastoral people seek ways to integrate theology with life experience.
The St. Camillus CPE Program offers Level I and Level II Curriculum to CPE students on our campus.
