St. Camillus is a non-profit charity operated by the Roman Catholic Religious Order of St. Camillus. As a charity, we seek, invite and involve those willing to share their gifts of “Time, Talent and Treasure” to help the people we serve. Our charitable foundation, the Order of St. Camillus Foundation, Inc., oversees the efforts to secure financial support. You can donate now by clicking here. Financial donations are used to provide charity care in our Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living areas for those who can no longer afford their own care, to improve our facilities and equipment, to care for the members of the Order, and to help with special projects.
Our staff will work with you as a donor of your time to St. Camillus. Thank you for your interest in giving your time and talents to serve the poor, the sick and the elderly at St. Camillus!

Volunteers help our residents and clients in a number of different ways. When the need arises, some help with special activities with the residents or simple clerical/office work. Others volunteer for our Hospice agency and to help families through the bereavement process. Many are just willing to visit, hold a hand and be a companion to a resident in need. Some are willing to help by transporting residents in wheelchairs within our Wauwatosa facility.
The Lay Camillian Family is another way people get involved. This spiritual group spends time in prayer and learning more about the life, mission and charism of St. Camillus de Lellis.
Volunteers also operate the Foundation’s St. Camillus Thrift Shop.

Because we are a healthcare provider and we owe it to our residents, clients, coworkers and volunteers to keep the facility as safe and healthy as possible, we require our volunteers to be TB tested and to agree to a criminal background check. For approved volunteers, once the application is received we email you the background check form. You’ll then be asked to come here for TB testing at our expense. After that, you’ll complete a 32-minute computer based training program and take a short test. Thrift Shop Volunteers serve their first 4 weeks on a trial basis. You’re willing to invest your time to help, so we invest our time to prepare you.
NOTE:
Volunteering at St. Camillus is not a good fit at the present time for those only looking to fulfill 10 or 20 hours of volunteer service to meet a requirement for school or another group. The time you would spend getting ready, and the time we would invest in you, simply would not prove worthwhile for either of us. We’re looking for people willing to commit to volunteering for a longer time period. If that’s you, please continue…
