North Residence - Assisted Living & Jesuit Residence - Upcoming Work

  • Parking deck is 95% complete
  • All steel stairs on the project are installed and 75% poured (Stairways 1-4 are complete)
  • Metal roof decking tie-ins from new facilities to existing facility underway
  • Precast erection on CBRF Area D is underway – will be complete by mid-December
  • Fire proofing of Jesuit Residence will be complete by the end of November
  • Fire proofing of CBRF will be 50% complete by the end of November
  • Structural steel stud framing has begun on the East side of the Jesuit Residence
  • Retaining wall for the Jesuit Residence courtyard has begun and will be complete by mid-December

St. Camillus announces new CEO, Kevin Schwab

Wauwatosa, WI, November 21st, 2016 - Effective October 26th, St. Camillus announced a

change in leadership: Kevin Schwab, as the new Chief Executive Officer. Kevin has been with

St. Camillus for sixteen years. Since 2005 Kevin has been employed by St Camillus as CFO and then COO in 2016.

 

Kevin has more than twenty years of finance, accounting, and investment experience in various industries. Kevin has a full understanding of the importance of providing a person centered care approach to achieve superior customer satisfaction. He combines strategic financial expertise with strong qualifications in business development, operations and P&L management. He is skilled at partnering finance with core operations and developing cross-company alliances. He is a Certified Public Accountant as well as a licensed Nursing Home Administrator for the State of Wisconsin. Kevin has a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Marquette University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

North Residence - Assisted Living & Jesuit Residence - Completed Work

  • Precast erection has begun on CBRF Areas B & C
  • Steel erection is complete on Jesuit Levels 3 & 4 – Will begin precast erection
  • Grouting of precast panels has begun on CBRF Area C
  • Concrete topping slab pours underway on Jesuit Areas 1 & 2 (East side)
  • Concrete pour complete in Stairwell 1 and underway for Stairwell 3
  • Exterior electrical duct bank installation is underway, which will help tie in CBRF to the   Community House
  • Underground plumbing has begun in CBRF Area C

 

Upcoming Work

  • Steel erection complete for CBRF Areas B & C
  • All steel stairs on the project are installed
  • Installation of electrical system in parking area complete
  • Topping slabs on the parking deck are complete
  • All elevator and stair shafts and connectors are complete
  • Nearly all structural tie-ins to existing building are complete (extensive disruption avoidance   planning was utilized to minimize impact to existing building)
  • Underground plumbing is complete for slab on grade in Jesuit Residence
  • Electrical rough-in in slab on grade in Jesuit Residence will be complete

  • Foundation walls are 98% complete
  • Concrete foundation work will finish up by early September
  • Concrete pad work continues
  • Masonry wall separating parking from the new building has been installed
  • Prefabbed elevator and stair shafts are installed and additional elevator and stair shafts to be built onsite
  • Parking deck is 95% complete
  • Underground plumbing and electrical to begin
  • Steel erection has began and will continue for the next four months

 

Camillian Community House - Completed Work

  • Infloor Hydronic Heating installed and Precast topping completed
  • Backfill completed
  • Wall panels arrived as scheduled on 8/8/16
  • Elevator Shaft Completed

  • Aggregate pier installation is complete: 800 piers installed - each are 12 feet deep
  • Concrete foundations are 80% complete
  • Foundation walls are 70% complete
  • Concrete foundation work continues
  • Concrete pad work continues
  • Installation of precast for parking deck underway
  • Masonry wall separating parking from the new building has been installed
  • Elevator shafts are being prefabricated offsite

 

Camillian Community House

  • Concrete Footings & Foundation walls are complete
  • Precast plank is being installed 7/18 - 7/22
  • MEP Slab rough-in 7/25 – 8/2 - Includes hydronic heating install at atrium corridor
  • Water main being tied into the building week of 7/25/16
  • Precast topping to occur 7/25 – 8/5
  • Lower Level Slab on grade to start 8/1/16
  • Wall panels to arrive starting Monday, 8/8/16

  • Foundation concrete walls continue: Over 2,500 linear feet will be installed
  • Structural masonry stairways will begin
  • Masonry elevator shafts will begin – 4 shafts will be installed
  • Installation of precast panels on parking area will begin
  • Preparation for steel erection to begin
  • Aggregate pier installation complete

 

Camillian Community House

  • Foundation Excavation has been completed
  • Concrete footings & foundation walls have started (952 cubic yards of structural concrete is scheduled to be poured in the building)
  • Precast plank to commence the 2nd week of July
  • Underground Utilities to start the end of June

  • Aggregate pier installation continues: 800 piers will be installed on the project with 70 – 90 installed per day; Each are 12 feet deep
  • Aggregate piers will serve as the bearings to support the concrete floors and columns
  • Concrete foundation work continues
  • Concrete pad work continues

 

Camillian Community House

  • WE Energies underground power line has been relocated
  • Earthwork to commence 5/17/16
  • 6,400 cubic yards of dirt will be removed from the site to excavate the basement
  • Structural concrete footings and foundations to commence 6/1/16
  • Underground utilities will start storm sewer and sanitary

North Residence - Assisted Living & Jesuit Residence

  • Underground utilities continue with the installation of the storm sewer and sanitary line
  • Earth retention work will begin
  • Aggregate pier installation begins: 490 piers will be installed on the project with 70 – 90 installed per day; Each are 12 feet deep
  • Foundation work to support the building will begin
  • Temporary Loading Dock will be paved and functional
  • 7,000 cubic yards of dirt have been moved or removed to prepare site
  • Habitat for Humanity recycled hundreds of pounds of material from the houses prior to demolition

 

Camillian Community House

  • Existing underground utility work is almost complete
  • Anticipated building footprint excavation in early May
  • Concrete to start early to mid-May
  • Precast to start mid-June

April 18, 2016 - Continuing Our Tradition of Excellence:  St. Camillus Expands Campus

 

Ground breaking ceremony - Held on April 14th at 1:30pm

Wauwatosa, WI, April 18th, 2016 - St. Camillus is excited to begin our first phase of our upcoming expansion plan!  The expansion officially broke ground on April 14th, and will include a 72 unit Assisted Living building, with apartments for both memory care and frail elderly residents, a new 50 unit Jesuit Building with its own chapel, and a 3 story 20 unit Community House for our Camillian priests and brothers to all reside under one roof.

Thursday's event welcomed 12 official diggers and 5 speakers, including Kathleen Ehley, Mayor of Wauwatosa, and E. Michael McCann, former District Attorney of Milwaukee County.  Residents, staff, families, and visitors from the community joined outside as St. Camillus CEO Rick Johnson and St. Camillus Provincial and President, Fr. Pedro Tramontin, welcomed guests and provided a blessing over the new construction site.  Over 300 people were in attendance and shared conversation and h'dourves  after the ceremony in receptions held on our St. Camillus campus.

As a not-for-profit, St. Camillus is dedicated to our mission of providing quality service to the aging.  By providing services to the poor, the sick and the elderly with a sense of compassion and love, St. Camillus campus offers hope and meaning to those who are suffering, comfort and security to those who are aging, and serenity to those who are dying, taking into account each person's innate dignity, unique needs, and God given rights.  St. Camillus has been proudly serving southeastern Wisconsin for over 90 years and we are excited about expanding our mission as we move forward with growing our campus.

March 15, 2016 - Groundbreaking

 

Ground breaking for St. Camillus' new buildings is scheduled for April 14, 2016.

 

The buildings that will be constructed are the North Residences (Assisted Living, Memory Care Community, and the St. Camillus Jesuit Retirement Community) and the Camillian Community House.

March 1, 2016 - St. Camillus Construction Corner

 

  • Camillian Houses -  Houses are located at 10213 W. Wisconsin, 10223 W. Wisconsin, 10229 W. Wisconsin, 10229 W. Wisconsin and  638 W. 103rd Street.  The Priests and Brothers of the Order of St. Camillus have been relocated to apartments both on and off our campus.
  • Hazardous material abatement has been completed in these houses.
  • The Order of St. Camillus is working with Habitat for Humanity to reuse any fixtures or materials in the house.
  • We have worked with our friends at the zoo for employee parking during construction.
  • Construction workers will park on Wisconsin Avenue.
  • Beginning the first week in March our construction team will remove the residential houses, formerly occupied by the Order of St. Camillus, and some trees to make room for the new buildings.  Every effort has been made to preserve all possible trees.
